Since it is always helpful to know the goal, this:
All religions have, as their primary purpose, making their adherents pleasing to God.
So, what does God want?
God wants human beings to be happy.
Human beings are happy when the energy of their total psycho-physical soul/spirit/mind/body energy field is experiencing unrestricted flow.
What restricts this flow?
A choice.
Your choice.
God is omnipresent, everywhere present. All of Reality is interpenetrated by God, subsumed in God.
God is Love.
Love is omnipresent, everywhere present. All of Reality is interpenetrated by Love, subsumed in Love.
When you choose to withhold Love, you deny Reality and do the impossible by creating a place where Love is not.
The impossible cannot be done and those who deny Reality are insane.
The insane believe they can do the impossible.
In order to withhold Love, in any area of your life, you must deny Its Reality in that area and must therefore prevent yourself from feeling it.
In order to do this, you practice a contraction of your total psycho-physical soul/spirit/mind/body energy field.
Which is why your body becomes tight and tense whenever you are unloving.
This contraction restricts the flow of energy in your total psycho-physical soul/spirit/mind/body energy field.
Which is the cause of all unhappiness.
The absence of Love, the lack of Love, the withholding of Love is not something that “just happens” to you.
It is something that you are doing. Actively, on an on-going basis.
Of course, since Love in Reality is everywhere, it is still there even within your contraction.
The contraction does not remove Love (which would, indeed, be impossible), but it does remove your ability to feel Love. So that you can deny Reality and appear to do the impossible.
Like an insane person who shuts his eyes so that he can deny the Reality of the Sun.
Stop it!
Open your eyes!
Stop contracting!
Stop withholding Love!
Choose Love.
This is the goal of all religions.
All the rest is mere technique.
